Multi-Factor Authentication

Why all organisations should be using MFA

MFA, or multi-factor authentication offers secure, logical access for staff, and even customers depending on the application. Introduction of MFA has been shown to reduce the risk of security breaches by over 75% whilst improving productivity and thereby saving money into the bargain.

If an organisation isn’t using MFA the question is - why not?

All businesses should secure accounts and apps with a robust multi-factor authentication solution that will keep the right people in, and the wrong people out.

Protecting business resources should be paramount, including customer-facing apps and enterprise apps that store sensitive data. A range of MFA options are available, with the ability to select the type of MFA, and when MFA is triggered depending on risk factors such as device, behavior, network, IP address range as well as many other contexts.

To stay one step ahead of hackers it’s considered safest to have MFA managed from a separate platform. Say you’re using 365, G-Suite or AWS – sure, they all offer MFA, but if you’re breached in any way whatsoever – MFA can be compromised.

Best practice is to use a standalone MFA solution that acts as a ring-fence around core platforms. By separating MFA, an organisation is hardening its security further and putting yet another hurdle in place from even the most advanced cybersecurity threats.

Cyberlorian offers such a solution, one that will integrate seamlessly with cloud suites, whilst offering the highest level of MFA protection (particularly against poorly secured APIs).

With a Cyberlorian MFA solution, access can be denied to  mission critical application unless users have the correct permissions. MFA can be controlled by the end users, whether they be internal teams or external customers. Users can enroll and reset MFA factors by themselves - saving time and money.

MFA also adheres to compliance and regulatory requirements. Almost all industries requiring MFA for compliance are covered by the Cyberlorian solution since it offers a range of assurance factors (such as knowledge, time based and possession factors).

Contact Cyberlorian for more information about how you can improve your cybersecurity with an MFA solution tailored to your specific requirements.
